Let’s twist with the new Marina Rinaldi pop colours!
As the sun returns, the desire for colour comes back with a vengeance. After the winter greys, our desire to express our joie de vivre for the new season through our wardrobe is stronger than ever, and Marina Rinaldi proposes some unique and truly appealing colours this year.
Not only the classic summer colours. The summer will mark the big comeback of particularly lively colours, with an almost retro allure, a bit Sixties, like the wonderful coral of the new dresses in the MR Voyage range, with their elegant drapes and handy zips. To wear with strong accessories like the new suede sandals with wedge heel and ankle strap, for a fresh and totally glam mood!

Also in the MR Giorno range you will find lots of garments in brand new, hyper-vitamin shades, why not mix them all together for an all-new look, an electric blue cardigan worn over a coral blouse, or a long red sweater worn over a long fuchsia shirt!

The buzzword is Colour Power for a brand new summer, filled with the happiness and vitality of the luminous shades of splendid turquoise with the MR Elegante dress, cinched at the waist by a golden brooch to create an extremely sophisticated draped effect.

A summer star with the new MR beach collection
The new Marina Rinaldi beachwear collection is dedicated to all those women who really love the sea and wish to live it freely, leaving behind a trace of their charm and femininity.
Whether strolling along the shore, relaxing by the pool or messing about in a boat, Marina Rinaldi has thought of women who love to show off even on holiday with an all-feminine wardrobe, versatile and sophisticated, with long t-shirts which become dresses, lightweight jersey or chenille suits, cotton crochet cardigans, ethereal voile foulards used as elegant bandanas or splendid sarongs with magnetic colour prints. And, of course, the evergreen black and white stripes, the true must have of every self-respecting marinière look.
Printed on long tops worn over comfy triacetate pants or as a simple detail on cuffs, collars or even on the edge of harem pants, a truly original and seductive item, perfect with suede platforms or comfy thong sandals for wonderful summer evenings. Macro, but also mini, stripes, just a hint, like the delicate pin-striped viscose jersey cardigans worn with Capri style leggings, short at the ankle for a very sporty-chic Riviera look.
The most elegant of colour contrasts, black and white, the true star of the Marina Rinaldi 2011 beachwear collection, including long sweatshirts with contrast edging, black & white patterned swimsuits that are so easy to wear and, of course, the icon piece of this collection, the viscose jersey shirt dress with belt and black and white striped edging. Totally chic and perfect all day long with its sophisticated, and just a touch retro allure. Black & white makes a comeback also for accessories with the fabulous wide-brimmed hats, canvas beach bags and resin macro-necklaces with contrasting optical colours.
And as a surprise, a coupe de theatre, a dash of red, bright, feminine and lively as the summer, appears in the MR Beach collection. You will find it in the beach towels, one-piece swimsuit with soft drapes and the elegant beach bags, because, when it comes down to it, what’s more elegant in the summer than a combination of black, white and red for an extremely refined casual-chic mariniere look, to wear on the beach or to the yacht club for a true diva summer.
Marina Rinaldi’s Florentine Madonnas, ideals of classic and modern beauty
“Tribute to Florence” is the homage-event that the fashion brand Marina Rinaldi decided to dedicate to the Tuscany capital to celebrate the refurbishment and light restyling of its via Panzani store and to celebrate with portraits taken by the photographer Lorenzo Poccianti, the modern Tuscany Madonnas, thirteen in all, chosen from among the most distinguished personages of Florentine entrepreneurship, culture and establishments.
So we have a dual homage that just goes to show how modernity, if it is of class, can live together well with the glorious splendour of a sublime tradition.
And we find this concept time and time again as this event unfolds. Starting with the re-styling of the flagship store, so fresh and contemporary, which has known how to take into account its marvellous location, right in the heart of the town, with the large shop windows reflecting the shape of the Cathedral with the legendary Brunelleschi Dome, illuminating with its history the modernity of the Marina Rinaldi collections with an ideal bridge between past and present.
But “Tribute to Florence” is, more than anything, homage to the feminine spirit of Florence, to its aristocracy – in the etymological meaning of the word, from the Greek ‘aristoi’, the best. To be portrayed for an exhibition entitled “Florentine Madonnas” were Sabina Corsini, Lucrezia Pandolfini, Eleonora Frescobaldi, Alessia Antinori, Flavia Ruffo della Scaletta, Fabiola Zileri dal Verme, Lucrezia Carrega di Lucedio, Angelica Bucalossi, Marina Luccioli, Selvaggia Magris, Ginevra de Renzis Sonnino, Alessandra Signori Lapiccirella, President of Confcommercio and Elisabetta Cianfanelli, Councillor of Fashion and Tourism in the Borough of Florence.
So not only those of patrician families, heirs of a past that will never stop enchanting the world, but also the new extraordinary stars of a modern Renaissance, each one committed to important social and entrepreneurial work.
For his photos Lorenzo Poccianti used the magnificent frescoes of Palazzo Corsini as his backdrop, inspired by a Florentine Renaissance reread in a glam key with quotes from the Golden Hollywood Age of the 40s and 60s to portray that ideal of true, radiant, satisfying and authentic beauty which is the stylistic feature of the Marina Rinaldi brand.
On 28 April these portraits were exhibited at the Teatro Comunale during the premiere of the Florentine Maggio Musicale (“Aida” directed by the Maestro Zubin Mehta and Ferzan Ozpetek), of which Marina Rinaldi is co-sponsor for the 2011 edition. A prestigious gala dinner followed for 300 esteemed guests.

Marina Rinaldi in the green living room of Euroflora 2011
Different forms, all wonderfully beautiful in their uniqueness, generate otherwise impossible suggestions when placed next to each other. Could we have missed an appointment with such authentic beauty?
At Euroflora, the most important flower show in the Mediterranean where every five years flowers and plants gather together from all over the world, Marina Rinaldi brought the freshness of its new Denim Collection and of its testimonial Crystal Renn by showing a video on the maxi-wall at the entrance of the exhibition and by hanging a 120 m2 panel (a small garden, to keep to the same theme …) on the external wall of the Palafiera. Not to mention the shades inspired by the most amazing bulbs that colour the windows of the Marina Rinaldi store in via XX Settembre.
And if the slogan accompanying the denim collection is “Curvy is Up”, that of the Euroflora 2011 edition that ended yesterday was “The Flower that Unites” : an invitation to rediscover the deep reasons of a peaceful coexistence among men, respecting the diversity of people and cultures, that particularly enhances the uniting values. Among these, the respectful amazement for the beauty of nature in which flowers and plants together with their colours and scents become a symbol.
Who has had the chance to plunge into the scents and colours of this beautiful green living room?
