In this Fashion week, here the fashion show for the new spring-summer collection by Marina Rinaldi.
Denim Day in Milan – Backstage video
We announced it in the previous post: here there is the first video that summarizes the Denim Day, with stylist Monika Kropfitsch.
Next, all the advices and fashion tips by the stylist: fit by fit, look by look.
A great “first night” for the
Marina Rinaldi Denim Collection
“Wow!” The exclamation could be read on the many faces of friends and journalists around the showroom, but could also be heard even from the professionals of the Marina Rinaldi world who had been working on the collection for months. When worn, the new Denim Collection seems even fresher, seductive, elegant. In a word: sensational.
In the flagship store in corso Vittorio Emanuele, Milan, last Thursday, everything was dedicated to the launch of the collection, starting with the windows, with a special set-up praising curves with a cry of “Curvy is up!” and a total denim look which caught the eye of everyone, not only the passers-by. And inside, a constant homage to the “cloth from Genoa”, where different shaped shirts and infinite varieties of trousers in denim run in perfect harmony alongside the new Marina Rinaldi Spring Collection.
The fact that the Denim Collection offers an infinity of opportunity was also confirmed by Monika Kropfitsch, the famous stylist and the special guest of the event, who created sophisticated interpretations of jeans for Marina Rinaldi, drawing on the most charming trends of fashion history.
From the allure of Flower Power, where the denim shirt becomes a lightweight jacket worn over a floral print dress, to sophisticated 90s looks that pay tribute to the perfect marriage of jeans and leather. Or the “rockability” style, where denim is black, with an urban mood, worn with printed shirts and a jacket. Or the composed, French allure, where white (or coloured) denim brings out the best in sophistication. Have a look here: MR DenimBook Milano
Plenty of different suggestions to choose from, and you can find them all here. Lots of creations for a great “first night”, all supported by the usual happy atmosphere and enthusiasm which always marks any Marina Rinaldi event. A beauty corner was also running to offer the participants a beauty stop and some make-up advice.
And for those who couldn’t be there, here are a few photos. Waiting for the next upcoming video of the day!
New colours and models for the
Marina Rinaldi trench!
In the new Marina Rinaldi spring-summer 2011 collection, the timeless trench makes a comeback, with lots of new details. Colours and length.
This great must-have of any woman’s wardrobe often comes in beige, a basic which goes with everything and which adds a casual touch to any look. But did you know that this great elegant classic, a timeless piece, can also be a unique sporty garment? All you need to know is how to customise it, wearing it with the right clothes and accessories. Imagination knows no bounds! On the other hand, the trench knows no season: perfect for rainy days or sunshine, it is glamour and chic and suits the figure by defining shoulders and waistline.
Its gutsy, contemporary allure makes it perfect with almost any outfit. From denim bermudas with turn-ups worn with a t-shirt to jogging suits to cocktail dresses, which become more playful. This year Marina Rinaldi has also aimed for colour. In the new collection the trench comes in printed patterns and in grey, a shade which makes it much sportier than the usual standard beige and black. The new MR trench is also enhanced by wide lapels, very ladylike, and three-quarter length sleeves which can be fixed in place by practical straps. Perfect with a pretty multicolour foulard or a printed patterned minidress, like the one worn by our testimonial Tatjana Patitz in the new advertising campaign.
And then, the length. In the MR Voyage collection you will also find lightweight short coats reaching just to the hips, with a new cut. Padded, in nylon with a crumpled effect, they are perfect all day long. The trench, that symbol of feminine elegance, is in fact an item that we women literally stole from the men’s wardrobe (the trench was the raincoat used by British soldiers during the Second World War, as in “the trenches”). From the trenches to the catwalk, a short trip, and still today we continue to fall in love with this coat, and every fashion house tries to modernise this great classic with new models and materials. Just like Marina Rinaldi, which this season focuses not only on brand new colours and prints but also on innovative materials and waterproofing which make them soft and breathable.
Marina Rinaldi presents the new Denim Collection with Monika Kropfitsch
As sensual as Crystal Renn and as trendy as an expert fashionista. If you’re looking for the best for the new season, Marina Rinaldi has got an unmissable appointment in store for all its friends, with the new MR Denim Collection, the range dedicated to every wardrobe’s basic garment and proposed by Marina Rinaldi as the passepartout with excellent fit and unbeatable appeal.
In the boutique in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Milan, curves and jeans – considered to be THE big fashion trend of this season – come in all kinds of unexpected and surprising shapes under the guidance of an exceptional fashion stylist, Monika Kropfitsch, who, after working on many famous outfits for fashion magazines and advertising, is now having fun tackling the MR Denim Collection, in a style exercise which offers lots of precious advice.
Because jeans, as the collection’s extraordinary interpreter, Crystal Renn, declared to Vogue.it “let women be natural and feel comfortable, which is why they’re perfect for curvy shapes.”
And Marina Rinaldi, which knows denim only too well, has made it into an extraordinary collection in which every woman can find her own perfect denim, for every curve and every situation.
To find out more, in a fun and exclusive event where you can get advice (even on make-up), the appointment is on Thursday 10 February, at 4 pm, at the Marina Rinaldi flagship store in Milan, corso Vittorio Emanuele on the corner of Galleria Passerella 2. Don’t miss it!
Sober, elegant and very feminine: the style of grey conquers all
Who said that grey was the winter colour par excellence?
Even in the warm season, nothing like this classic colour, with its decisive, discrete and metropolitan DNA, can offer such luminosity for our faces and such a sophisticated, feminine style for our outfits, as we can see from the look chosen by our testimonial Tatjana Patitz who wears a nylon double-breasted trench with wide lapels in the new advertising campaign. Grey is the new neutral, almost a pastel shade which goes perfectly with everything. As it is delicate, ethereal, shaded.
And can be anything we want it to be. It is up to us to make it romantic or strong, according to the garments and accessories we match with it.
In the new spring-summer 2011 collection Marina Rinaldi has focused on its luminosity, in particular in the Voyage range, a whole world to discover!
Starting with outerwear, really classy and feminine, like the vintage effect nylon raincoat with practical drawstring and lightweight nylon padded short coats.
With the MR Giorno range, grey also enhances the appeal of many icon garments, like the long silk cardigans with luminous decorated edges, or the sophisticated jackets in soft suede with three-quarter length sleeves. Beautiful!
But not just outerwear. Grey is one of the strongest leitmotifs for this spring-summer, invading the summer wardrobe with pearl effect pants, perfect for the evening, and elegant dresses and tops playing with contrasts of grey and white.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s take a walk on the grey side!
