Hot trends: the down jacket

Long or short, quilted or smooth, plain coloured or multicoloured, with hi-tech materials and tasteful details:
the down jacket
, it goes without saying, is one of our favourite garments.

So much so that we have paid tribute to it by making it the centrepiece of the window display of our Flagship store in Via Vittorio Emanuele during Milan fashion week, with an inspiring installation.

The reason? Because we like that sense of freedom that it offers. Because when the temperature drops like in the past few days and our diary – which knows no seasons – has us running here and there without pausing for breath, we like to think we can carry on with our usual fighting spirit and without having to worry about the troubles winter brings. So here it is, the down jacket, ready to come to our rescue.

Light yet extremely warm, in recent years it has lost its reputation of being merely a sport garment and, each season, is proposed by designers. It has become increasingly slimmer, has been coloured in glamorous shades and has been given lines that are able to reshape the silhouette, warming the body without being too cumbersome, making it suitable for the most formal occasions, whether it be for work or a social occasion. In the city or in the mountains, where it is the only elegant and ecological alternative for warding off the cold, it is always perfect when travelling as it doesn’t crease and won’t suffer the usual “traumas” of a suitcase.

In short, it is the best ally for a winter full of energy, just the way we like it. Our favourite? Amongst the many proposals offered by Marina Rinaldi in the winter collection, without a doubt the purple (or grey) techno coat with contrasting lining, that expresses the season’s colours in a long or short version. For all tastes and, above all, for all temperatures.
